Here are some fun ideas:
Cut out a headband and then cut out bunny ears. You can staple the head band together and then attach some ears. This is a very simple idea and you can then do the bunny hop.
Clothespin Bunny or Chick. You can get a clothespin and then cut out bunny faces or other Easter Characters and glue them on the clothespin. You can find bunnies and other Easter characters in clipart and print them off. You can have the children color them or print them in color and have the children cut them out. You could even glue them on a magnet and fun holiday magnets.
Photo frames: It’s always fun to capture the holiday memories with a fun frame. You can get cardstock or the lightweight foam and cut out an Easter Egg or other holiday shape. You can decorate it with stickers, pictures and other fun things. Then all you have to do is glue the picture on it. You can always attach a magnet to the back and hang it on your refrigerator.
Easter Bookmark: Add to your child’s fun of reading. Take a large popsicle stick and cut out of construction paper Easter bunny ears and put on some googly eyes. You can add a carrot that is cut out of construction paper and add whatever else you would like. You can also make a chick and add some yellow feathers to it. You can also just let your children take some markers and crayons and draw eggs or whatever they would like.
Egg Ornaments: Take light weight foam or cardstock and cut out easter egg shapes. You can have the children color them or put stickers or their favorite pictures on it. Then attach some ribbon or yarn on the back and hang them on a tree.
Bead Necklaces or Bracelets: Even though this isn’t a specific Easter activity it is a fun Spring activity. Children can string a variety of colored beads onto string, leather strips or other thin items. It is a fun way to add some bright colors to the Spring.
Paper Plate Easter Basket: Take 2 paper plates and staple around the edges, except for one side of the plates. Then take construction paper and cut a thin strip of paper that you can staple to the plates and create a handle. Then the children can color the plates and put notes and small things in the Easter Basket.
Easter Chicks or Easter Bunny Pom Poms: You can take 2 Pink or 2 Yellow large pom poms and glue them together. For the Easter Bunny you can cut out a couple of white ears and glue them to the top of the pom poms. Then take cute googly eyes and glue them on the pom pom. You can add little pom poms for the paws and feet and the tale.
For the chicks you can add a orange beak, 2 googly eyes and even a few feathers on the back. Little children love being creative with pom poms.
Plastic Cup Easter Basket or Bunny or Chick: For the Easter Basket you can have the children color on the cup. Be sure to use paper cups. Plastic is hard to color on and the markers spread all over. Then staple a handle to the top of the cup. The children can put easter grass in the cup and then add a few eggs depending on the size of the cup. It is a fun, small, easy activity. You can also make the handle out of pipe cleaners. Make a Kite: Since March can be a windy month it can be really fun to have the children make a kite. Take a piece of construction paper and cut it into the shape of a kite. Have the children color and create whatever they would like on the kite. You can then add a piece of yarn to the corner of the kite. Just staple it one. Then you can take the extra pieces of construction paper and cut out bows to staple to the string. This is a very fun Spring activity.

Want an in expensive way to do Easter Baskets? There are many fun things you can do for an Easter Basket.
1.Kraft Bag Baskets: You can take the Kraft colored bags and decorate the bags to look like cute Easter bags. You can even add grass to the bottom of the bag. This is an inexpensive and fun way to have the children involved with making their baskets.
2.Have some miscellaneous baskets laying around your house? You can take the basket and tie ribbon on the handle. You can also have the children glue things on the handle or around the basket. Fill it with a little grass and you are set.
3.Plastic Easter Baskets: You can have the children weave ribbon in and out of the plastic. The plastic easter baskets are usually very inexpensive, simple and sturdy.
4.Bunny Easter Basket: Take the basket and glue ears on the top of the handle and then put bunny eyes, bunny nose with whiskers and a bunny mouth on the main part of the basket. It turns out really cute.
5.Make an Easter Basket out of a Milk Jug. Cut a hole in the front side of the milk jug (not on the side of the handle). Then put eyes above the hole that you cut. Put easter bunny ears on the bag side by the handle. Glue a pom pom underneath the handle. You can put whiskers (draw them or cut them out of construction paper) and put them on the side of the hole that you cut out. This was a harder one to explain. I hope it at least got you started.
On Oriental Trading you can even have Easter baskets customized with your child’s name.

Planning a party for Easter?
There are so many fun ideas for Easter Parties. Here are some ideas:
1.Easter Bingo: Create bingo cards with Easter characters and then play easter bingo
2.Easter Relay: Have cards that have different sayings on them. Like: hop, skip, crawl, jump, 1 foot hop, walk backwards, etc. Then split the children into 2 teams and you have them run to a destination and then they pick up a card and have to do whatever it is coming back. You can have them do it both down and back if you want.
3.Pinatas are always fun for anytime. There are very cute Easter piñatas and you can fill it with Easter Toys or whatever you would like.
4.Decorate Easter Eggs cookies: You can get sugar cookies, icing, sprinkles, jelly beans, colored coconut and have the students be creative. You can also do this with cupcakes.
5.Easter Egg Hunt: There are several different ways you can do Easter Egg Hunts.
a.Decide on how many you are going to have at the party. Then number that many eggs # 1 and then # 2, etc. All of the # 1 eggs have the same treat or toy in it. Then you challenge each of the children to find 1 of each of the numbered eggs. This helps with all of the children getting the same amount of eggs and same treats. It also makes the hunt take a little longer, because they can’t just pick up every egg they see.
b.You can do the same activity with specific colors, alphabet, shapes, etc. Depending on what they are learning.
c.You can tell each of the children they can find so many eggs and then have one egg with their name on it and they have to find their special egg.
d.If you don’t want to fill plastic eggs due to money or time you can just put candy and toys out on the lawn and have them find it that way. Sometimes that is harder because it blends with the grass more.
e.Have a golden egg that has a prize tag in it that they win. You can have more than one golden egg if you want. You can have numbers inside and that determines what they win or you can just let them choose from what you have.
6.If you are having a neighborhood easter egg hunt or a family party you can have everyone bring a food item to share. Our neighborhood has the each family donate 12 plastic eggs per child that will be attending. That way no one has to foot the whole bill.
7.Don’t’ Eat Pete: You have a card with 9 different pictures on it (looks kindof like a bingo card). Then you have a candy on each square. One child decides which one is Pete (it can be any of the 9 pictures), but they don’t tell anyone. Then the other children try to figure out who is Pete. They point to a picture and if it isn’t it then the child who knows who Pete is gets to eat the candy. They also can say, don’t eat Pete. Once they guess who Pete is then it is the next child’s turn and your restock the candy on the sheet.
Feel like this is a special time to touch base with some neighbors and friends and want to give them a special Easter Gift? Want something for your primary children or children at church? Manager at work and would like to give a little spring incentive? PTA President and want to say thank you to the PTA Board or the Faculty and Staff.
There are some really simple and great ideas!
1.Make a cute rainbow and attach your child’s picture to the end of the rainbow.
2.Take a small flower pot and put grass in it and then add some Easter eggs to it
3.You can put sayings or thoughts in the Easter eggs (thoughts of appreciation)
4.It is always fun to add some jelly beans in the Easter grass around the eggs
5.Small tote bags with handles: You can decorate the bag or buy spring colored bags and then put office supplies or other supplies that are relevant to who you are giving it to
6.White mugs can be turned into very cute chicks or bunnies. Then it can be inexpensive and easy to fill with Easter grass and other treats.
I have gotten supplies off of www.orientaltrading.com for my PTA board. It is simple to assemble and gives that little boost to everyone around you. It’s fun to see those around you light up when you give them a little treat.

One other thought for Oriental Trading that we have done already.
Tired of all of the candy? We have tried to find different ideas over the last couple of years. I just ordered these really fun Dinosaur Easter Eggs off of Oriental Trading. I have gotten them and they are brightly colored and each egg has a dinosaur in it. It is a really fun idea for boys. They also have really fun ideas for girls.
Some of the other things that we have done are:
1.Money
2.Fruit Snacks
3.Fish Crackers
4.Small toys (bouncy balls, sticky hands, etc.)
5.We have bought the Easter eggs at the store that have Hot Wheel cars in them
6.Stickers
Children love variety and it is even more fun for the children to open the eggs and find that there are different things in their eggs.
Looking for inexpensive easter eggs? Want a fun easter egg? The Jelly Bean egg shapes are a steal and bright and colorful. My children have also enjoyed the Character Eggs with different characters on them.
